The Duties of the County Clerk

The Middlesex County Clerk is a constitutional and administrative officer elected by the voters of Middlesex County for a term of five years pursuant to the Constitution of New Jersey. 

  • Filing and recording of all documents affecting real estate ownership and transfer.
  • Processing of U.S. Passport Applications
  • Swearing-in and certifying notaries public.
  • Filing of Trade Name Certificates 
  • Issuance of Veteran and Gold Star Parent Identification Cards
  • Plays a key role in the conduct and supervision of Primary, General, School Board, and Special Elections.
