Annual School Election
The upcoming Annual School Election will take place in New Brunswick on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. This page is an overview of the Election, including deadlines, forms, and additional information.
All active registered voters who have requested a Mail-In Ballot for all elections or for this specific election, will receive a Vote-by-Mail Ballot for the 2026 Annual School Election.
Registration Deadlines
- The deadline to register for the Election is March 31, 2026.
- The deadline to apply by mail for a Mail-In Ballot is April 14, 2026.
- The deadline to apply in person for a Mail-In Ballot is April 20, 2026, by 3 pm.

Vote by Mail
If you do not receive your ballot by April 6, 2026, you may request a replacement ballot from the County Clerk’s Office by calling 732-745-4202 or by sending a replacement ballot request form.
To return your Mail-In Ballot, choose one of these options:
- Mail your ballot through the United States Postal Service and ensure it is postmarked on or before Election Day.
- Properly postmarked mail-In ballots must be received by the County Board of Elections from the United States Post Office by 8 pm on April 27.
- Drop your ballot in one of the below Middlesex County Board of Elections Drop Boxes 8 pm on Election Day, April 21, 2026.

- Take your ballot directly to the Board of Elections’ Office in East Brunswick by 8 pm on Election Day, April 21, 2026.
Drop boxes are maintained by the Middlesex County Board of Elections, are secure, and monitored by video surveillance. Ballots are collected from drop boxes on a regular basis.

Vote In-Person
On Election Day:
Registered voters may vote in person on Election Day, April 21, 2026, by proceeding to their assigned polling location.
