The New Jersey Health Life Sciences Exchange, better known as the HELIX, aims to drive growth in health, life sciences, and technology in New Jersey. The complex will feature three state-of-the-art buildings that will total over 1.5 million square feet of space, housing a range of research labs, office spaces, and residential units, fostering a dynamic and multi-purpose environment for innovation.
The first building in this complex, H-1, will include the New Jersey Innovation Hub, a cutting-edge space designed to promote innovation, as well as the Rutgers Translational Research, where life science research discoveries from the lab become real-world applications. Rutgers Medical School will also make H-1 its home, training the next generation of healthcare professionals and fueling the regional talent pipeline.
The legendary Nokia Bell Labs will take ownership of the 350,000 square foot H-2 building making it its new East Coast Headquarters for Research and Development. Finally, H-3 will offer versatile office spaces for smaller organizations, along with residential units on the upper floors.
Middlesex County local government is not only a key investor in this game-changing capital infrastructure project, it will be an anchor tenant alongside major academic institutions like Rutgers University and Princeton University, and leading healthcare institutions such as Hackensack Meridian Health and RWJBarnabas Health. Together, the HELIX will become a regional beacon future-forward research, education, and economic development.
