“COVID-19 has caused suffering in communities across the globe and upended our way of lives. I
wish I could say Middlesex County is immune to the immense impact of the disease, but I cannot. It
is with great sorrow that I report that the disease has claimed the life of one of our own – a
Middlesex County resident – a female in her 90s. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s
family and friends. While we grieve as a community, we must remember that this is not a time to
panic, but a time to continue to be diligent in our preventative measures. While COVID-19 impacts
our friends, family, and neighbors, we must remember that we are all still just that – friends, family,
and neighbors – and at a time like this, we find solace in the strength and power of our community,”
said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios.
