Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera announced today that the fatal collision that occurred in the City of Perth Amboy on May 14, 2026, is currently under investigation.

On May 14, 2026, at approximately 2:54 P.M., Perth Amboy Police Department received a report of a serious crash on Convery Boulevard and Krochmally Avenue. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. When authorities arrived on scene, they found a 2021 Nissan Frontier pickup truck operated by a 51-year-old man from Perth Amboy and a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Xavier Sanchez Serrata, 28, of Perth Amboy. Sanchez Serrata suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Newark where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Nissan pickup truck sustained minor injuries.

After an initial investigation it was determined that the motorcycle was traveling north on Convery Boulevard when it struck the side of a Nissan Pickup truck who was turning left onto Krochmally Avenue.
