Post Date:02/22/2026

Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced today that a New Brunswick man has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide that occurred in the City of New Brunswick on February 22, 2026.

On February 22, 2026, at approximately 12:42 P.M., authorities received a 911 call reporting shots fired. Upon their arrival at a residence on Riverside Drive, they discovered Ahmad Sannoh, 31, of New Brunswick, with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.

The initial investigation led by Detective Brandt Gregus of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, determined that Hassan Sannoh, 28, of New Brunswick was the alleged perpetrator of the conduct which caused the death of Ahmad Sannoh. Since the decedent and the perpetrator were family members, this was not a random act of violence.

Today, February 22, 2026, Hassan Sannoh was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree Murder and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Sannoh is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of his Pre-Trial detention hearing.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area is asked to call Detective Brandt Gregus of the New Brunswick Police Department at 732-745-5217 or Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3316.

As with all criminal defendants, the charges against Sannoh are just allegations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
