Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department announced today that a death is under investigation in the City of New Brunswick.
Today, September 30, 2025, at approximately 1:40 A.M., the New Brunswick Police Department received a 911 call requesting medical assistance at a 7-11 on George Street. Upon their arrival, authorities located a Markeem Moore, 44, of Manville. Moore was unresponsive and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
An investigation led by Detective Keith Walcott of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Olivia Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that a physical altercation had occurred between Moore and a store employee, Taiwan Sanders-Boyd, 29, of New Brunswick.
Boyd was arrested and charged with second-degree Reckless Manslaughter. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a Pre-Trial detention hearing.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Walcott of the New Brunswick Police Department at 732-745-5005 or Detective Ankudowicz of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-4396.
As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Sanders-Boyd are merely accusations, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
