Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Daniel Plumacker of the Sayreville Police Department announced today that a death is under investigation in the Borough of Sayreville.

Yesterday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 9:37 A.M., authorities received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive female. Upon their arrival, officers located Shirley Thompson, 64, of Columbia, SC, unresponsive. Thompson was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.
