Middlesex County Extension Office Members Honored with Excellence Awards at Rutgers Cooperative Extension Annual Conference 2025

Bill Hlubik and the RU Ready to Farm Team receiving the Best of the Best Award

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ – On Tuesday, January 14, members from the Middlesex County Extension Office were presented excellence awards during the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Annual Conference held at the Rutgers University Busch Student Center in Piscataway, New Jersey. The honorees included 4-H Agent Laura Bovitz, Master Gardener and Environmental Steward Sue Tarr, Agricultural Agent Bill Hlubik, and his RU Ready to Farm Team for their efforts and accomplishments in their respective programs.

  • Laura Bovitz received the Mary Jane Willis Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award for advocating for teens and creating inclusive youth development programs that support various youth needs.
  • Sue Tarr received the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Award for Excellence in the volunteer category for her contributions to the Native Plant nursey at the Middlesex County EARTH Center.
  • Bill Hlubik and the RU Ready to Farm Team received the Best of the Best Award for providing comprehensive training resources to over 180 beginner farmers in New Jersey.
