MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — On Friday, December 6, Middlesex County officials joined East Brunswick representatives to introduce the County’s pedestrian safety program, “Slow Down in Our Town,” in the southern part of the township. The initiative focuses on reducing speeding and promoting pedestrian safety on Fern Road and surrounding neighborhoods.

The “Slow Down in Our Town” program brings together residents, local law enforcement, and County officials to implement a multi-faceted approach to traffic safety. Key elements of the initiative include:

  • Lawn Sign Campaign: Eye-catching lawn signs placed in targeted neighborhoods to remind drivers to slow down.
  • Radar Speed Notification Signs: Implemented by local police to alert motorists of their speed.
  • Community Training: Local residents are trained to assist law enforcement by reporting speeding incidents, including vehicle descriptions and times of occurrence.
