“Middlesex County is pleased to announce that the National Park Service has concluded its review of our proposed plans to re-imagine and enhance Thomas A. Edison Park and has issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Thomas A. Edison Park Change of Program of Utilization Environmental Assessment (EA). The Destination Athletic Complex at Thomas A. Edison Park will feature 14 fields including a 500-ft Cricket field; 16 tennis courts; a brand-new playground; new comfort stations, a fieldhouse; safe pedestrian and bicycle pathways, and much more. This new and improved park is designed for the enjoyment of County residents and visitors, to foster and address the growth of athletics and public recreation for generations to come.
The Destination Athletic Complex is a key component of the Community, Innovation, and Opportunity (CIO) Strategic Investment Plan led by the County and made possible by crucial partnerships with the State and Federal government. We acknowledge and thank Congressman Frank Pallone for his efforts in securing the necessary funding for this marquee initiative.
The future is exciting and bright for families, students, businesses, and visitors in Middlesex County, NJ – a leading destination to live, work, and play.
