The County has extended the deadline for opting out of receiving a Vote by Mail (“VBM”) ballot for the 11/5/19 General Election and all future elections until 12 pm EST, on Friday, 9/20/19.

Hours of operation:  Mon. 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; Tues. – Fri. 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Eligibility/Required Documents – Federal ID

 
Hands of Hope for the Community, 2136 Woodbridge Avenue, Edison, NJ  08817 (732.236.3330) provides a bag of food to all government employees who are not working.  Hours of operation: Tuesday, January 29 and Friday February 1, 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.—Eligibility/Required Documents – Must show Federal Employee ID Badge

 
The MCFOODS (Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services) network of more than 120 food pantries throughout Middlesex County is ready to assist any of the 5,000 NJ employees who are affected by the furlough of government workers.  A directory can be found at www.mciauth.com.

 
Giddy’s Pizzeria, 233 Route 18, East Brunswick, NJ (732.659.6898) US Federal Government employees that are affected by the shutdown (working without pay as well as those that have been furloughed) – Monday through Thursday, between 1:00 and 4:30 p.m. receive 2 cheese slices, small homemade fries and a can of soda for free. This will run during the shutdown. Must show valid employee identification.

 
Romano’s Macaroni Grill Until the government shutdown ends, any government employee can receive 1 complimentary Mom’s Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti entrée at any of the 84 Romano’s Macaroni Grill locations nationwide.  This is during lunch (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.).  Federal ID must be shown.

 
IKEA in Elizabeth is giving free breakfast to any federal government employee with an ID from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. every day until the end of the shutdown.
