At the April 23 Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting, members of the Sayreville Police Department were recognized for their heroic response to a 9-1-1 call. When a 6-year-old girl was found unconscious, with no pulse or respiration, Patrolman Sean McGrath (second from left) stepped in to perform CPR and restored the girl’s breathing with assistance from Officers Jeffery Taylor and Chris Englebrecht. The girl and her parent were also helped by Communication Operator Mark Hurley, who took the 9-1-1 call and remained on the line for assistance.
