Consider this: just about everything we eat, wear and use comes from agriculture. That is why America’s farmers and their crops are celebrated each year on National Ag Day, which falls this year on March 20.
To honor this day, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County has planned a new seminar entitled The State of Agriculture and our Food Systems -- County, State and Beyond.
This event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 20 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the EARTH Center, in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
Led by Agricultural Agent and Professor Bill Hlubik the talk will present a brief look at agricultural history at the national, State and County level, current agricultural practices and innovations for the future.

The deadline for registration is March 16 and no walk–ins will be accepted.
“America’s farmers have given us so much, and helped to preserve the land we call home,” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “Ag Day is a great way to recognize their hard work.
Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, Chair of the Business Development and Education Committee added, “I hope many people will attend this seminar to learn about the new advances in this field, and to honor local, State and national agriculture.”
Middlesex County’s EARTH Center is home to the Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Middlesex County and part of a nationwide network that brings the research of the State land-grant universities to residents. Offices throughout New Jersey are cooperatively funded by the County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Rutgers University-New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
