Senior Health and Fitness Walk Offers Opportunity to Get Active

Registration is now open for the annual Senior Health and Fitness Walk, hosted by the Middlesex County Department of Community Services, Office of Aging and Disabled Services.​

Registration is open for the annual Senior Health and Fitness Walk, hosted by the Middlesex County Department of Community Services, Office of Aging and Disabled Services, taking place on September 25. All seniors are welcome, but registration is required. Please contact your local senior center to register before September 11.

 

Middlesex County’s Roosevelt Park in Edison will once again host the walk which will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. The event will feature free health and wellness screenings, raffles, free t-shirts, and entertainment. Free boxed lunches will be available following the walk.

 

“Our seniors always enjoy being part of this event,” said Freeholder Blanquita B. Valenti, Chair of the County’s Community Services Committee. “Bring your friends or come ready to meet new ones and learn new health and wellness tips.”

 

Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios added: “Please register now to join this popular event for a beautiful day of exercise in the park. Thanks to the free health screenings, you can also learn how to make your lifestyle healthier and maintain good health habits.”

 

Registration is required. Please contact your local senior center to register before the September 11 deadline.
