The Middlesex County Office of Parks & Recreation is seeking teams for its annual Board of Chosen Freeholders’ Basketball Tournament, which starts in early March.
“This annual event has been a great hit with our young athletes, and we are so glad to be able to offer it again this year,” said Freeholder Charles E. Tomaro, chair of the County’s Infrastructure Management Committee.
Games are played Monday to Thursday 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. and will be held at the Middlesex County Vocational-Technical School located at 21 Suttons Lane in Piscataway. The tournament will consist of four divisions:
Youth Division #1: (Boys and Girls ages 10 and under)
Youth Division #2: (Boys and Girls ages 12 and under)
Youth Division #3: (Boys and Girls ages 13 and 14)
Youth Division #4: (Boys and Girls ages 15 to 17)
Age cutoff is Oct. 31. Teams must have a minimum of five, but no more than 20, participants. Registration, a $75 per-team entry fee and rosters are due by Feb. 21. Space is limited. Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis.

“This tournament has always been fun and competitive, and I expect this year will follow that tradition,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios.
Please note: rosters and birth certificates for all players must be carried by each coach for verification before the first game and for subsequent games if requested.
