About MCIA

The Middlesex County Improvement Authority was created by Resolution of the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Middlesex adopted on September 6, 1990. In creating the Authority, the Board of Chosen Freeholders provided an entity, which could assist various governmental and community entities in a variety of ways. The Authority’s objective is to support the County and the municipalities and other entities within the County, providing financial and management assistance. The Authority strives to improve the quality of life for the residents of Middlesex County.

The MCIA’s pooled financings provide municipalities and the County with low-cost bonds to secure much-needed equipment and public facilities. Long Term Care Centers

​The Middlesex County Improvement Authority is the license-holder and operator of Roosevelt Care Center in Edison. Specializing in long-term, subacute and Alzheimer and Dementia Care, the facility strives to create a comprehensive continuum of treatment designed to rehabilitate and maximize physical function, to ease pain, to slow the progression of debilitating conditions and disease, as well as promote each individual’s independence and quality of life.

MCFOODS

​MCFOODS collects and distributes nonperishable items at no cost to about 80 local food pantries and soup kitchens throughout the County, as well as an additional 25 agencies including: residential facilities, shelters, social service agencies, programs for women and children, senior citizen housing facilities and other outreach services that are also a part of our network.
