The Community Affairs/Bias Unit is responsible for proactively communicating with members of the various communities and organizations throughout the county regarding public safety matters. The Unit is responsible for identifying, documenting and investigating bias crime incidents and crimes.
A goal of the Unit is to educate the public and eliminate crimes motivated by prejudice or bias against others based on race, color, religion, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression.
