Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Stephen Rizco of the Highland Park Police Department announced today that a 23 year-old case manager has been arrested and charged with multiple criminal counts in the sexual assault of a child under the age of 16.

Miguel Garrido, 23, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick was arrested and charged on November 17, 2017 with one count of aggravated sexual assault in the first degree, one count of sexual assault in the second degree, one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact in the third degree, one count of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree; one count for the sexual assault and the second count for the use of marijuana with the victim.

Garrido was a case worker with Coordinated Family Care, which is a private non-profit Care Management Organization providing assistance to youths and their families in Middlesex County.

He was charged during an investigation by Detective Ted Pardo of the Highland Park Police Department and Detective Deon McCall of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

During the investigation it was determined that sexual assault took place at the victim’s residence. Garrido was acting as a case worker for the victim.

The investigation is active and is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Pardo of the Highland Park Police Department at (732) 572-3800 ext. 4253 or Detective McCall of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-3652.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Garrido are merely accusations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
