IN MEMORY OF:

This year’s event is dedicated to two past participants of this event who both lost their battles with pancreatic cancer this winter, Highland Park resident Franco Juricic and Hopatcong resident Bruce Hill.

The Middlesex County Department of Public Safety and Health, Office of Health Services, along with the County of Middlesex Board of Chosen Freeholders, The Chronic Disease Coalition of Middlesex and Union Counties, and The Edison Municipal Alliance are sponsoring: The 11th Annual Pancreatic Cancer 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, June 15 at 9 a.m. at Roosevelt Park, in Edison. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

The event is being held to raise community awareness about pancreatic cancer; to raise funds to aid in research; and to support the work being done by the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to find a cure.

Individuals and teams are welcome. Registration for the 5K run is $25 online and $30 the day of the race per participant. For the walk, registration is $15 per participant. Donations are encouraged. All proceeds will benefit pancreatic cancer research at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The course is a certified 5K course sanctioned by USATF.

To register for the run or walk visit here. You may also register that day.

Interested in volunteering?

The link to volunteer is as follows:
https://hippocrates.nj.gov/SurveyAuth?mth=openSurvey&id=27839

Volunteers must be 16 years and older to volunteer without a parent, guardian or group leader.  Minimum age for volunteers accompanied by an adult (for the duration of the shift) is 10 years old.  We require at least one adult for every 8 volunteers under the age of 16.  For example, if a group has 10 volunteers under the age of 16, the organization will need to have 2 adults present for the entire shift.
