SEASONAL ASSISTANT - MOSQUITO CONTROL
If you enjoy working outdoors and have an interest in field biology and/or public health this is a great summer job. The Middlesex County Mosquito Commission is hiring seasonal employees to assist in control of mosquitoes for the 2018 season. We are looking for motivated, responsible individuals with the desire to be a part of an environmentally conscious team of professionals serving the Middlesex County residents. No experience necessary, field training will be provided for all aspects of the job. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Commission Supervisor.
QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS MUST:
Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean driving record; Be a resident of Middlesex County; Pass a background check; Obtain a NJ Pesticide Operator License upon hire; May be expected to work with or without supervision and must be able to work in a variety of outdoor conditions. College education is not required but candidates with background or interest in biological science, entomology, ecology, or public health are preferred.
WORK HOURS: 7.00 AM to 3.30 PM, Monday through Friday.
HOURLY RATE: $12.00 per hour

JOB DUTIES include, but are not limited to-
EDISON: 200 Parsonage Rd., Edison, NJ (or)
SOUTH BRUNSWICK: 81 Broadway Rd, South Brunswick, NJ.
Performing inspections and surveillance of larval and adult mosquito populations in assigned areas (urban & sylvan); Obtaining mosquito samples for laboratory analysis; Performing applications of chemical and biological insecticides and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Recording data related to surveillance and field operations; Assisting with helicopter aerial mosquito control program and other assigned tasks as necessary. Training will be provided for all aspects of this position.
