5K Run/Walk to Benefit Pancreatic Cancer

The 9th Annual Pancreatic Cancer 5K Run for the Cure and Cancer Awareness Walk will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Roosevelt Park, in Edison. Registration begins at 8 a.m.The event is being held to raise community awareness about pancreatic cancer; to raise funds to aid in research; and to support the work being done by the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey to find a cure.
Individuals and teams are welcome. Registration for the 5K run is $25 online
and $30 the day of the race per participant. For the walk, registration is $15 per participant. Donations are encouraged. All proceeds will benefit pancreatic cancer research at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The course is a certified 5K course sanctioned by USATF.
Additionally, we would like you to know that children or groups as young as 10 years old (with an adult supervisor or guardian) can volunteer or acquire volunteer service hours at this event. Our volunteers will receive a t-shirt, water, snacks, and access to the “Celebrate Middlesex Day” (featuring food, music, activities and more) being held immediately following the Walk/Run. There are no fees to volunteer, so register today to help raise awareness about pancreatic cancer.
The event is being sponsored by the Middlesex County Department of Public Safety and Health, Office of Health Services, along with the County of Middlesex Board of Chosen Freeholders, The Regional Chronic Disease Coalition of Middlesex and Union Counties, and The Edison Municipal Alliance.
