The Division of Comprehensive Planning and the Environment carries out a wide range of planning functions and programs relating to land use, environmental and infrastructure issues in Middlesex County. The Division’s role in ensuring that a concise picture of the land use, zoning and infrastructure conditions of the County be objectively presented in a plan that predicts growth and capacity needs into the future, is the critical function of the work that is done in the Office. The Division provides staff support to the Middlesex County Farmland Preservation Program, water resources initiatives such as the Water Quality Management Planning Program and the Manalapan Brook Restoration Program and the County Comprehensive Plan. Division staff also conducts environmental and functional planning reviews required by other divisions under various regulations.
