The Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services (MCFOODS) was created in 1994 to help achieve food security and provide access to nutritionally adequate food and other basic necessities to all residents in Middlesex County. The program is operated by the Middlesex County Department of Community Services with support of the Board of Chosen Freeholders. MCFOODS is also a collaboration of many partnerships working to end hunger. Local governments, nonprofit agencies, businesses, organizations, schools and houses of worship all work together through the MCFOODS Network to help achieve our mission.
In 2020, MCFOODS received and distributed over 4.3 million pounds of food including fresh produce, dairy and meat products to over 140 partners. We wish to extend gratitude to all volunteers and staff who have given their time, energy and talents over the last 26 years. Without them, none of this would be possible.
