Information offered through the Office of the County Clerk.

The duties of the County Clerk’s Office are :
- swearing in and certifying notaries
- filing of Trade Name Certificates
- recording documents concerned with the purchase and sale of real estate
- filing of military discharges
- filing of sub-division maps, tideland and wetlands riparian aerial photos and the issuance of Veterans Peddlers Licenses. 
The County Clerk plays a key role in the conduct of elections, processes applications for passports and performs wedding ceremonies.
The Middlesex County Clerk's Office is pleased to announce a FREE new service called PROPERTY ALERT.
By signing up for this service, you are taking the first step in protecting your property. By registering, you are now able to track your property and you will receive e-mail alerts immediately if a document with your name or property description is recorded in the Middlesex County Clerk's Office.
As of Monday, March 19, 2018, we will reject and return documents sent for recording if the updated cover sheet provided in our link is not used. Due to a new system upgrade, effective immediately please use our revised cover sheet provided in the link below.

On Tuesday, March 26th the Middlesex County Clerk will be hosting a Passport Acceptance Day for U.S. citizens at the Piscataway Senior Center located at 700 Buena Vista Ave. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 
Walk ins are welcome but you can call (732) 562-1133 to reserve a time to have your passport application processed. Please bring proof of your U.S. citizenship, one passport sized photo, identification, and separate checks or money orders for payment. For further information please call the Middlesex County Passport Office at 732-745-3405 or you can go to the Department of State’s website at for information on how to apply and to download the forms.
