LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
LIHEAP is a federally funded program providing energy grants to low income households. This year, the application period is October 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. To be eligible for LIHEAP benefits, the applicant household must be responsible for home heating
or cooling costs, either directly or included in the rent; and have gross income at or below 200%

Universal Service Fund
USF is available to NJ utility customers with household income equal to or less than 185% of the FPL and who pay more than 3% of their annual income for electric, or more than 3% for natural gas. If a household has electric
heat, it must spend more than 6% of its annual income on electricity to be eligible. USF is available year round and applications are accepted any time of the year. For more information call 1-800-510-3102 or click here for more information.
NJ SHARES assists New Jersey residents who do not qualify for LIHEAP, USF and whose income does not exceed 400% of the FPL. Eligibility is determined by income and household size; applicants must have fallen behind on their energy bills due to a temporary financial crisis. This program is available year round based on funding availability. Lifeline is a program that offers a $225 energy benefit to persons who meet the PAAD eligibility requirements or be a recipient of either Medical Assistance to the Aged (MAA), Medical Assistance Only (MAO), or New Jersey Care. You must be a New Jersey resident, 65 years of age or older, or 18 years of age or older and receiving Social Security Title II Disability benefits.This includes utility customers as well as tenants whose utility bills are included in their rent. Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program assists low income individuals and families whose total household income is at or below 200% of the FPL with services that reduce household energy use and costs by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. This Program provides installation of free energy efficiency measures, personalized customer energy education and counseling for income eligible households.The Comfort Partners Program is available to any New Jersey home with significant energy use, with a household income at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines, For more information click here

PAGE (Payment Assistance Gas and Electric)
The annual PAGE Grant assistance is intended for low to moderate income New Jersey residents who are struggling to pay their electric and natural gas bills.Eligibility is determined by income and household size; applicants must have an overdue balance of at least $100 and not have $15,000 or more in liquid assets.
