One Stop
Career Center goal is to empower customers, through support and
information to make informed decisions. They
are designed to offer seamless access to employment and training programs into
an integrated system for job seekers and employers who will provide guidance
and access to resources and services that can help you successfully enter or
re-enter the workforce. There are three levels of services available to
customers: core, intensive and training. The Workforce
Learning Link provides
adult learners instruction in reading, writing, and math; communication;
financial literacy; job search; and employability and life skills and are
available at the Middlesex County One Stop Career Centers.
Core
Services - All individuals can access core
services after registration. Self-directed materials and group informational
workshops are also offered and, if needed, a staff member is available to
answer your questions and provide career guidance.

Assistance with unemployment insurance and filing disability claims

Intensive Services – Intensive or individualized services may be provided, If
unemployed individuals are unable to find jobs through core services alone. Intensive
services, ancillary training programs and other resources are subject to
program eligibility and funding limitations.

Career Services Counselors will
work with you to plan a comprehensive training plan. All visitors have free access to a resource room
with computers, internet, printers, as well as telephones and fax
machines.
Occupational training services are offered to individuals who
are not successful in securing employment at a self-sufficient wage through
Core or other Intensive Services. Provisions of the Workforce Investment Act
WIA promote individual responsibility and personal decision-making through the
use of Individual Training Accounts (ITAs), giving adult job seekers the
opportunity to choose the type of training they feel best suits their needs and
interest. This market-driven system enables customers to gain the skills and
credentials they need to succeed in their local labor markets. Customers select
their programs from the New Jersey’s Eligible TrainingProvider List, a list of
approved training providers for in demand occupations.
