Whether your small business is new to exporting or you’re already selling goods and services to other countries, Middlesex County Department of Business Development and Education provides partnerships with businesses and state agencies to expand economic growth globally.

As the gateway for exporting around the world, Middlesex County boasts five (5) Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) offering incentives for companies generating final products exports out of the United States (Carteret, Edison, Perth Amboy, South Brunswick, and Woodbridge). Managed by the Port Authority and through the NJ Business Action Center NJBAC, Middlesex County Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) provides strategic locations to the Ports with unmatched transportation assets, plus the State’s network of free professional export assistance.

NJ State Trade and Export Promotion (NJ STEP) Program, administered by the New Jersey Business Action Center (BAC), provides sub-grants to New Jersey eligible small businesses that are new to export, as well as those businesses who currently sell their goods and services to other countries.

  • Help you develop a viable export plan.
  • Offer guidance in identifying global business opportunities, helping you locate buyers and potential markets, test local demand and connect you with partners for joint ventures and strategic alliances.
