Founded in 2008, the American
Indian Center hosts programming and exhibits documenting the rich heritage of
American Indians. The center is located at The Lodge in Thompson Park, a 615
acre county park located in Monroe and Jamesburg, and provides an opportunity
for American Indians to gather and share their culture, traditions and history
with the residents of Middlesex County.
Folk Life and history programs
are held throughout the year on topics ranging from the traditions of the Lenape,
who lived here in New Jersey, to other communities throughout the Americas.
Past programs include lectures, workshops/demonstrations, and storytelling.
